From 1983 to 1985, BMW won back-to-back Dakar rallies with its R80G/S adventure bike. The BMW Motorrad Concept Lac Rose pays tribute to those winning machines while capitalizing around the recognition with the R nine T among customizers nowadays.
BMW went all in on designing the Lac Rose custom and related gear The Lac Rose concept is powered by the exact same boxer engine found around the R nineT The Lac Rose notion colour scheme was influenced by the rose-colored Retba lake close to Dakar The Lac Rose concept has enough bits to offer a nod to past Dakar rally winners
Named following the rose-colored Retba salt lake near the finish line when the Dakar rallies were actually run from Paris to Dakar, the Lac Rose is described by BMW as "a cool and laid-back roadster using a couple of standard off-road capabilities which permit you to leave the street and follow a dirt track into the unknown." In other words, this bike is just enough dirt worthy to discover some backroads without having having it into problems.
The nod for the bike's G/S influence on this R nine T custom comes largely in the type of the windshield, mudguard, oil cooler protector, oversized tank, headlamp and seat. Longer suspension travel, wire spoke wheels and massive studded tires give it some more dirt cred.
There is no word on regardless of whether BMW will be turning this notion into a production bike any time soon, or just how much the corporation invested in it. The R nine T scrambler is almost certainly as close as you'll get.
