Lamborghini grabbed the globe by the unmentionables and showed it certainly one of the most scrumptious, lust-worthy cars it had ever noticed. Just months after being displayed as a rolling chassis, the Miura and its super-smooth Bertone-crafted body and mid-engine layout made a huge splash at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. A appear at its rollercoaster curves, oval headlights and smooth-dropping fastback, and the car nonetheless gives goosebumps 50 years later. So it's no wonder Lamborghini has spent much of the year celebrating the Miura's 50th birthday, just a couple of years following celebrating its own. The most recent piece from the celebration is the all-new Aventador Miura Homage, a special edition Aventador in Miura clothing.

The Miura has been known as the world's first supercar, as well as in the event you do not recognize it as such, Lamborghini's personal description of "forerunner of all V12 Lamborghini super sports cars" gives it a fairly high location within the hierarchy from the automobile. The car came in three models throughout its production run in between 1966 and 1972: the original 350-hp Miura, the 370-hp Miura S and also the 385-hp Miura SV that debuted in 1971.
The Aventador Miura Homage revives a touch from the Miura's splendor, although the very first thing you may notice about it's that it looks like an Aventador, not a Miura. Lamborghini didn't try to exaggerate the hood and fender curves, reshape the headlights or add a single slat in the rear windshield. But whenever you appear in the Miura within the photo below, you see what Lamborghini has carried out.
Produced by Lamborghini's Ad Personam studio, the Aventador Miura Homage wears heritage-inspired body paint with a contrast lower body therapy. Lamborghini will provide purchasers a choice of six solid and metallic heritage colors, such as Rosso Arancio Miura, Verde Scandal and metallic Blu Tahiti. The debut model's contrast gold sills are complemented by gold Dione rims, and matte silver rims may also be on offer. A metallic Miura badge around the side and black Lamborghini logo in back finish the special edition exterior off.
Inside, purchasers may have their choice of Nero Ade or Terra Emilia leather, and the carbon fiber package comes regular. The Miura 50th anniversary logo is stitched in to the seats in gold or silver and "Lamborghini" embroidered around the leather dashboard. There's also a limited edition plate.
Lamborghini hasn't carried out any tuning towards the Aventador's 6.5-liter V12 engine, but at 690 hp, that engine is about twice as powerful because the original Miura's 3.9-liter V12. The vehicle maintains the 2.9-second 0-62 mph (one hundred km/h) and 217 mph (350 km/h) leading speed of the regular Aventador.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed unveiling of the Aventador Miura Homage follows a variety of other Miura celebratory events throughout the year, including a Miura driving tour via Italy that wrapped up earlier this month, a Miura celebration in the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, along with a restoration from the original 1971 Miura SV revealed at Techno-Classica Essen (beneath).
